Family story has it that my GGGGrandmother, Christian CUNNING, died in Falkirk, after giving birth to my GGGrandfather, born 2/4/1797. I wonder if SKS with access to burial/death records for Falkirk can confirm this? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Bob in Melbourne.

Our parents are dead and left the UK in the early 1900's with no contact back then to family left behind in the UK we don't know which parent we inherited from. Maybe someone out there has symptoms or children who don't know they are afflicted. We would love to trace any family alive in the UK today.

Does anyone know if the librarys in New & Old Cumnock in Ayrshire would have early 1900s newspapers on microfilm? Would these papers, if they exist, have carried obituaries of local people? I would love to read them if they are to be found. Has anyone from Ayrshire had any good luck with printed obituaries from the 1880 to 1930 time period? Thanks David Strickland Dallas, Texas USA
My father-in-law, William McCririck, was born in the farmhouse at Muirdyke Farm near Cumnock, Ayrshire, in December 1901. The family left the area for Dunure around 1910. In 1998 my wife and I found the old farm but unfortunately the farmhouse was in ruins. Only the outside walls and interior spiral staircase remained standing. Would there be a photo of the house in it's prime in any of the reference books in Old Cumnock? Would gladly pay a fee for someone to scan and email me a picture of the house before it was abandoned. Thank you very much. David Strickland Dallas, Texas USA
If anyone is on line and living near Kirkoswald I need a favor. In the 1881 Census Charles McDade and family were living at Balloch Hillie Cottage in Kirkoswald. Would love to know if this cottage is still standing. If so I would pay someone for a picture of it. David Strickland Dallas, TX USA

I was not aware that by posting this to various messageboards would cause some folks a duplication problem. Sue

Hi David You can get the 1901 scottish census on http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk It is currently unavailable with maintenance but go in and check.
