    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EgC.2ACE/10199 Message Board Post: I wrote to the British Isles and Ireland Board concerning this name; but I never received a response. So I thought I would try this board. I have an ancestor named Robert Biggs. I know nothing before he appeared in 1776 in Westmoreland Co, PA. He married a Miller who was born in Scotland, supposedly. He is written up in Clark Co, IN in their local history books as being of Scotch-Irish descent. He was born ca 1753 as per the records. My question is this: is Biggs a Scottish name? Could he have come originally from Scotland? If so, what might be the best way to attempt to find his parents and grandparents and siblings? Thanks so much for any suggestions that might be sent my way. I am truly stumped as to where to go. Thanks.
