    1. Re: [SCOTLAND] Errors Transcribing Gender?
    2. I have found a grandparent in Georgia, USA, in the census whose name was Bennie listed as a male. I know for a fact that this grandparent was a gggrandmother whose name was Bennie Ann. The Ann was omitted therefore she was listed as male. It was initially an "F". But it was scratched through (in ink) and changed to an "M". I am certain of this as she is listed in the correct family with the correct parents and siblings. **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Author: maocrown Surnames: Brown/Loveland Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/21599/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for information on Elizabeth Douglass Brown who was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on 5/21/1843 and died on October 23, 1910 in Manchester, CT. She came to America and married David Asa Loveland. Her two relatives William A. Brown, b.10/3/1863, d. 7/22/1897 and Joseph Brown, b. 1845 and d. 1913 followed her here to America as well. I'd like to know who her parents are. According to the years of those two men, looks to me Joseph might be her brother. Any information would be greatly helpful and appreciated! Thanks! Author: Littleford2007 Surnames: Reed, Botsford Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/21598/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for more information for Marcellus James Reed, b. 17 Mar 1810 in PA and d. 12 Nov 1887 in Racine, Wisconsin. James Reed was born in an unknown location in Pennsylvania in 1810. His parents are listed as both being born in Scotland according to the 1880 Federal Census. At some point he found his way to the Chicago area and married Mary E. Botsford around 1848. From there they made their way north to Wisconsin where he had a grocery store on the corner of State and Marquette in Racine which may have burned down sometime in the 1870's. The parents of James Reed's names are unknown to me at this time. Much research is being done currently on the Reed family to try and break through the brick wall. Any information on his parents would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
