I've attached a screen capture showing the result. Since you are (much) less than one hundred years old your details are NOT available on-line. Author: whiskymac17 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22216.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Scotland has the finest genealogical records in the world, however there is the need for privacy. All access is through Scotlands People on-line, but all births less than 100 years old are suppressed, marriages less than 75 years and deaths less than 50 years ago are also suppressed. To get sight of recent records you need to visit New Register House in Edinburgh where you can browse modern records for the reasonable cost of 10 pounds per day. Living in Scotland I benefit from easy access to these records. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hi If you want to know anything about your Scottish Ancestor the site below is where you should go to. It cost £65.00 for 30 credit but be careful you need all the information you can get. I.E If there are a number of people with the same name you can use all your credits and still end up at square one. I don't want to put you off I have been using this site for years with no trouble. http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ Good Luck Bob ----- Original Message ----- From: <jmbailey@hwy16.com> To: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com>; <scotland@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 10, 2010 7:26 PM Subject: Re: [SCOTLAND] No one from Scotland? > Thank you that`s my problem as well , Looking for Campbell's and > McIntyre's > of Argyll Scotland > Myrna > > -------------------------------------------------- > From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, October 10, 2010 12:55 PM > To: <SCOTLAND-L@rootsweb.com> > Subject: [SCOTLAND] No one from Scotland? > >> This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. >> >> Author: hmmhmmm >> Surnames: >> Classification: queries >> >> Message Board URL: >> >> http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22216/mb.ashx >> >> Message Board Post: >> >> Hello, >> >> Can someone help me, I have tried to figure it out myself and watched all >> the videos and read all the help... but I just can't seem to search for >> anyone from Scotland?! >> >> England, no problem, but my family is Scottish and I can't even find >> myself, it's highly frustrating. >> >> I even searched for Sir Alex Ferguson and nothing?! >> >> Thanks. >> >> Important Note: >> The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: kernow1504 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.general/22216.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: As far as I know, there is no BDM info from Scotland on Ancestry, you have to use www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk if you want complete info or you could try www.familysearch.org which has SOME scottish records in their record search pilot. Your birth IS on scotlandspeople! Ancestry has transcribed the scottish census' though so start here for those. Spelling isn't always great so do try variations if it doesn't come up.
