Donna in Michigan, There are also Stinsons in my ancestry. They were from the Chester County area of South Carolina. I haven't looked at the info on them specifically for quite some time, but I recall reading that my family line were a hard-headed group that continued to use the phonetic "Stinson" name, rather than the "Stephenson" spelling used by the rest of the family. If the info would be helpful, I can try to dig out some more of the info in my files. I do recall reading that an ancestor in England invented the steam engine (Henry Stephenson?).
