Carla, The only thing I can find that is remotely close to the Hanchett surname in Ireland is the surname Hackett, which is Saxon in origin, and found in Ireland as early as the mid 1600's in Westmeath, Tipperary, Tyrone, Dublin and Kilkenny. There is also found a spelling of Hacket.
