Thomas, Jr. The popular Ancestors TV show returns Monday night on Georgia Public Broadcasting. This third in a series returns at 7 p.m. on Mondays through June 26. This series was put together by Brigham Young University (see www.byubroadcasting.org/ancestors) The site includes other sources for research. The Sons of the American Revolution want to locate descendants of Revolutionary War soldiers and sailors who participated in the Frederica naval action on April 19, 1778, when three galleys of the Georgia Navy captured three armed British ships in the Frederica River at St. Simons Island. A ceremony to honor the patriots will be conducted at 10 a.m. April 19 at the Fort Frederica National Monument on St. Simons Island. Descendants have not been located for the following: Commodore Oliver Bowen, John Bacon, James Carpenter, Alexander Daniel Cuthbert, Joseph Day, Hull Doty, Belcher Fuller, Matthew Gibson, John Hartley, Archibald Hatcher, Michael Mahoney, George Melvin, John and William Myers, Bernard Petty, Job Pray and George Young.
