Being the thrifty Scot I am, I preferred to take the 39 marker test that SMGF provides for FREE. I didn't mind waiting 11 months before most of my results were available and I expect the rest of the results by March 2006. . SMGF conforms to strict security standards to maintain the privacy of the donors and their generic profiles. Due to privacy issues, samples are analyzed for database construction purposes only and individual results are not given back to participants. However, you may obtain your genetic marker profile from a commercial lab if you would like to search the SMGF database. ----- Original Message ----- From: <bbairdsr@aol.com> To: <SCOT-DNA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, December 18, 2005 6:54 PM Subject: Re: [SCOT-DNA] test kit > Being the thrifty Scot I am, I preferred to take the 39 marker test that > SMGF provides for FREE. Bruce I did the same with SMGF (who required minimum of 5 generations paper trail backup), 3 months ago, and was wondering what was happening on the results. Thanks for giving me a ballpark estimate on timing. Even though I had undertaken the FTDNA 37-marker test I was interested in checking the results against an independent FREE analysis as well as adding one or two new markers. When you mention 'rest of the results', what do they include?
