My Scotch-Irish ancestor was born in northern Ireland probably Co. Derry before 1800 m. Martha EAKIN dau. of John EAKIN came to the States and lived out the rest of his life in Butler & Venango Counties of PA. His yDNA descendant's DNA sample is in the Northeast U.S. SMITH project. Surname SMITH. I have no idea what clan his ancestors might have been in. Would this yDNA & SMITH be an acceptable candidate for your project?
