I am hoping to find more info on Elias Richard HOLMES parents from maybe an obituary and one on his mother Mary J. HOLMES. 2) Does anyone know where this land would be located by the descriptions above? and 3) Does anyone recognize any of the mentioned names? Thank you so much! Jennifer Gilbert Gibson ------------------------------------------------------------......... Jennifer: The Keowee Courier is printed from Walhalla and has covered most the area for over 100 years. There was also a Tugaloo Tribune printed from (I think) Westminster. There are some Pitts families in the Oakway area but I couldn't say whether this is what you're looking for. If you are fairly close it would probably benefit you to visit the Oconee Library in Walhalla SC. They have old Keowee Couriers on microfilm and someone has done an excellent job of indexing the names--you don't even have to know what date you're looking for. Same with the Tugaloo Tribune. As for the names: some of the surnames are familiar, but not from back then. I'm not connected to any of them that I know of. I also have tunnel vision when I research. Allen
