The great house of Everton (those genealogical publishers) have a daily email for those who request it (free). A special edition came out today with a report that the Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) have added a place on their web site to download FOR FREE their genealogical software application. It's the Personal Ancestral File, version 4.0, their latest version. It's written for Windows 95/98/NT and your computer must have a 486/66 processor or higher, 16 -32 megabytes of RAM, 20 megabytes of free hard drive space, a 256 color display (600 x 800 recommended). Go to www.familysearch.org and click your mouse on the "What's New" button at the top left. When the next page comes up, click on "free download of Personal Ancestral File 4.0". Then click on "Downloadable family history products" link. You have to read and agree to the license agreement and fill out a form with your name and address. Download is approximately 3.5 megabytes in size. Good luck, everyone. Remember, this page and this offer will undoubtedly be in great demand. So, please be patient. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
