Traci I am writing to see if you can steer me to the place to look in South Carolina. I currently live in Summerville. My mother's maiden name was Parsons, and I am researching her side of the family. So far I have determined that I am a descendant of William B. Parsons and Mary Cragg. The info I have indicates that William died in Laurens County, SC and I assume his wife, Mary, died there also. At least one of their grandchildren, Cragg Parsons, was born in Old Pendleton District, SC, on February 28, 1806. I guess my question is this: I want to go upstate to try to find any info I can (records, cemetaries, etc.), but I'm not sure where to go since the Pendleton District was split into the different counties of Pickens, Oconee, Anderson, ??. I hope you can steer me in the right direction 'cause the deeper I dig it seems to get more confusing!
