I have to start with a more recent date to backtrack this family connection. I am actually researching the BROCK family, however I am at a brick wall and thought I try another avenue by looking at the spouses surname. William H. Ginn died Oct. 1, 1967 married Lillie A. Brock daughter of Emasiah Brock and Mary Jane Bruce. I have Lillie Brock's obituary which says that William H. Ginn died Oct. 1, 1957. Any connections or information on the GINN surname would be appreciated. Gail - Maryland

I found an obituary for Mrs. Dubose among my mother's obituary collection. If anyone is interested I will email the text to you. Unfortunately, when my mother started putting the old obits in her book she neglected to date some of them. Email me at GGailSmith@aol.com.
Do you have Rufus DeVane King? He's in my family of Moores and Kornegays. He moved from N.C. to Al. in very early 1800's. Barbara Green Justice Jax.,Fl.
I have 2 Davis lines I am researching, but I don't know if yours is one of them. I have discovered that Davis is even more difficult to research than Jones....and that is saying a lot. My Davis lines are William and Elizabeth parents of Laura Davis (1851-1934) married to Abner Calhoun King. The second line is Elizabeth Mayfield(b. 1823) married to Griffin Davis (born 1826), son of Zechariah (1778 born Maryland, died 1860) and Hannah Davis. Do these ring a bell? Janice Haring Other lines I am researching are: King, Fant, Sanders, Moore, Mayfield.

Trying to locate my JONATHAN BRIDGES line in SC - b. 27 Sep. 1775. He married in SC, NANCY PATAN/PATON/PATTON, who was b. in SC 1783-1785. They went to KY after birth of first child, CHARLOTTE BRIDGES about 1804. My ancestor, MARIAH GREEN BRIDGES, was born in 1805, Lincoln or Barren Co., KY. We think they lived in the part of Barren Co., KY that became Allen Co., KY. Six more children were born in KY: THOMAS BRIDGES, ISAAC TITSWORTH BRIDGES, MARGARET BRIDGES, JOHN J. JACKSON BRIDGES, ELIZABETH BRIDGES, and MARTHA BRIDGES. Last child in family was born in Lawrence Co., Indiana in 1829, EDMOND GREEN BRIDGES. Parents lived rest of life and died in Martin Co., IN. Dear List Members - I just received the following from a member of another list I belong to: "To all of you interested in the Family Search site.....my brother in law is an employee of the LDS Church and was the head of Family Search for some time. I wrote him yesterday about the site to say that no one could get on because the server was busy.....this is his reply. "They don't want anyone on the server now. They aren't ready for any Beta type testing. They took it down today to put in special passwords. Somebody leaked or someone discovered the network's pre-beta test address and put the address up on the net. The internet system will not be ready for any outside internal evaluators for some period of time. Can't tell you when -- I don't think anyone knows." Hope this answers some of our questions. Dear List Members: I smile to myself as I write this. I have been getting so many messages from all of you letting me know that my personal site needs help but most of all needs pictures. Know that it will be done in time - I have only been working on it for a week.. Keep in mind that I am designing the site by myself and it is hard for an old woman to learn these new ways. I love all of you and think of each of you as my friends in research. Thank you for the wonderful Roll Call this week end. Not only did it help us compare our lines, it helps me clean up the list when I received the bounced messages from it.
