Thanks everyone for the great replys.His hadstone has born in Newbury,S.C. (misspelled) and the dates. Already been through theTexas line.Gov.s' father was a General in Civil War ( Died at Shiloh).He fought Indians in Alabama.Gov did go to school in Vance,Ala for a short time then.Got alot of papers on the Hoggs.Been working on this off and on about 10 years. Guess him being born out of wedlock to a young Hogg girl was an embarrassment and they kept quiet about it. Names just were'nt handed down.Thought I'd ask anyway.Thanks again.
