Hello to everyone on the list. I am trying to find information on Jacob Barrett, Jr.; son of Jacob Barrett, Sr. and grandson of Arthur Barrett and Lydia Chambers. Jacob Barrett, Jr. lived in Newberry, SC at the time of his death. According to the Minutes of the Newberry County Court for February, 1796, Jacob Barrett, by then deceased, had made provisions for two of his minor children; Arthur, age 7, was put under the care of Henry Hollingsworth to be taught a trade; Jemima, age 2, was put in the care of a John Dawbins. I believe Jacob Barrett, Jr. was also the father of my gggggrandfather, Abner Barrett. I live in Wisconsin and I'm trying to find someone who would be willing to locate the deeds of Jacob Barrett, Jr., his will, or information on the administration of his estate. I've made queries at the Newberry, SC Genconnect site with no luck. I'd be more than willing to cover any associated costs.
