The rumor is that they came from Yorkshire. One of the relentless Wright researchers is researching the possibility that the Wrights entered the colonies through New Jersey. She is also looking into John Wright's wife's ancestry but I think she's looking for ancestry of a woman who wasn't her mother. There were some Quaker Wrights in Pa. and their children went on to Ohio at about the same time as those in SC went. Don't know if there was a connection. DJ
