With regard to Mary's request for information on Charles Crow and family. This family name has arisen often in my own searches of the Newberrry area, especially in the minutes of the Bush River Baptist Church where my own family of John and Rebekah Sterling were members, along with many cousins in the Pitts, and Waldrop families. The Sterlings were my ggggrandparents. Their grandson Hosea, also listed, is my great grandfather. I note the following to save a lot of searching. The Bush River Baptist Church minutes has the following references for Charles Crow and other Crow family. ========================== 1799, Oct 12 Charles Crow and his wife Sarah Crow were received by experience ======================= Charles and Sarah are listed again in 1802, which case may have been a re-organization of the Church. 1803, 1. Charles Crow examined, along with several others, for the gift of preaching. 2. Charles Crow chosen, along with several others to represent the Chrurch at the Association conference. 1805 Oct 2 James Teague, Charles Crow and John Pitts licensed to preach. 1807 Aug 8 James Teague and Charles Crow called to the ministry, and date set for their ordination in this same month. As Charles Crow Sen. is listed as among the dead members in Sept 1802 This was apparently Charles Crow Jr. being spoken of later, both are listed among the male members of the church, along with a third Charles Crow. The latter may be a duplication of names. Charles Crow Jr. is listed as dead on Nov. 16, 1815. An Elizabeth Crow is listed as dead on Nov. 4, 1815. She may have been a sister. Apparently Sarah was the mother. This information is taken from the transcribed .doc file in the Coates site of South Carolina. Hope this information is a help.
