    3. I found this book to very helpful with my Summer ancestors. I spoke to one of George Leland Summer's descendants who lives near Pomaria, SC who has done a lot of work on the Summer family and he expressed that he feels that the Summer family information is fairly accurate. I did find some inaccuracies regarding my Eichelberger ancestors. But overall I'm very impressed that he was able to amass so much information and keep up with it all (without a computer!). The German immigrants who settled in this area seemed to be such a tight-knit group and for the most part, appeared to stay put for the first 100 years or so. They seemed to marry pretty much within their own group. I get so lost sometimes just trying to straighten out all my John Summers (27 at last count!) and Mary Summers. I recently read Brett Butler's autobiography and she made the statement, "I'm so Southern, I'm related to myself", and I really can identify with that now.
