Oddly, however, they could find no Death Certificate for my grandfather Doyle Victor Brannon who died in 1944, and is buried in Union, SC. So I know that he is actually dead.     3. Vicki, I can go up to the State Archives and get a copy for only 50 cents each since I live right here in Columbia. There is no problem in doing it yourself since they are on microfilm and they have the readers and printers right there. If you let me know, I will get up there before too much longer since I have some things to look up there anyway.
