Hello all, I am researching Marmaduke Jackson Chapman (b. abt 1776). He is listed on the 1820, 1830 and 1840 Newberry County census. I can't find him in 1850 (he would have been 74 yrs old), so I am assuming he died between 1840 and 1850. - Does anyone know if there is probate or will information available for that time period? - Also, did the border of Newberry change drastically between 1840 and 1850? Maybe Marmaduke is still alive in 1850 but listed in another county? - What is the best place to get information about Newberry County? A Newberry Country library (if so, which one) or the SC Archives in Columbia? Thank you for your help, Sandy
