I am a new subscriber to your list, a descendant of John Crumley and Hannah (Faulkner) who settled in Newberry in the mid-1700s. I've been trying for several years to identify the wife of my 3-great grandfather, James Regan, whose first name was Catharine. One researcher from SC identified her as Catharine Crumley, daughter of John Crumley, but that researcher was unable to document the information. John and Hannah did indeed have a daughter named Catharine, so I suspect the information is true, but I learned long ago to find a source for my facts. The library here in Pensacola has lots of material on the southern states, including SC, but nothing on Newberry specifically and no marriage records from around 1811, the year their first child was born. Could someone from this list who has access to marriage records from Newberry County from that time frame please do a look-up for me?
