    2. Dan Shell
    3. Hello relatives and researchers! The Shells of Pigeon Creek Genealogy Web Site has recently been updated with the addition of 2743 individuals in 1005 family groups along with some new photos, documents, and biographical notes. Many of these individuals are from Ann Glasgow's publication of research by her and Robert Glasgow, Jr. on the Glasgow family. Zaccheus Wright married Mary C. Glasgow, dau. of Robert Glasgow and Elizabeth Kinard, on December 7, 1809. He was the son of James Wright and Lucy Shell. Some more of them are from the research of John Wayne Hickman on the ancestors and descendants of Samuel Aaron and Elizabeth Jane Halso Hickman. The descendants of this couple still hold an annual reunion at Sardis Baptist Church in Pigeon Creek, Alabama on Mothers Day. John Wayne Hickman updated, corrected, and augmented an earlier publication of this family's history by Eleanor Hickman Hughes in 1965. Her book, Hickman-Halso, was also a primary source for me. Many more have sent me reports completing lines to the present from Revolutionary times. Thank you for making the site better. Check it out at http://Web.InfoAve.Net/~danshell/surnames.htm. I hope you find something of interest there. Dan Shell

    2. Hi Listers This is not a commercial, really, I need your help, (and maybe you can help yourself and USGenWeb Archives ) The publishing Company below offers two pricing plans, one very expensive and one very reasonable. However when I go to the counties I am genealogically interested in, I find that few, and often zero people are on the "wait list" for that county/year (at the very reasonable price) Please check out the prices and if you think they are reasonable, I would very much appreciate it if you put your name on the wait list. S-K promises not to share your address and to allow you to change your mind before they "burn" your CD The county/years that I am interested in are: Union Co., Arkansas, 1900, 1910 Union Co., South Carolina 1810, 1820 Newberry Co., SC 1810, 1820 Lauderdale Co., ALabama 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840 Monroe Co., Mississippi 1850, 1860 Desoto Co., MS 1850, 1860, 1870 Tate Co., MS 1880, 1890 Marshall  Co., MS 1870 Panola Co., MS 1870, 1880, 1890 I am including a couple of other messages to show that there is other interest in census' Thanks a bunch, "______________________________ -------------------- X-Message: #3 Date: Fri, 13 Apr 2001 11:44:05 -0500 From: "alltel" <properties@alltel.net> To: AFHA-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <003101c0c438$f442b900$55fd66a6@dennis> Subject: [AFHA] Arkansas census on CD's Content-Type: text/plain;     charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Can anyone tell me where I can buy the Franklin Co., AR. census 1860 ~ 1900 on CD's Thank you, Vicky ______________________________ -------------------- X-Message: #4 Date: Fri, 13 Apr 2001 18:56:42 EDT From: Hstryhntr2@aol.com To: AFHA-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <42.136f141d.2808de2a@aol.com> Subject: Re: [AFHA] Arkansas census on CD's Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Disposition:  Inline In a message dated 4/13/01 11:33:48 AM Central Daylight Time, properties@alltel.net writes: > Can anyone tell me where I can buy the Franklin Co., AR. census 1860 ~ 1900 > on CD's > Thank you, Vicky I don't know if they have what you are looking for or not, but the best I have bought have been from S-K Publications. 2. Bettie WOOD <><
    3. Hi to all, On a list that I moderate (GAWALTON) we have purchased all but 2 census (1870 & 1910). These have all come from S-K Publications. What we agreed to do was send the money to one person (me), & then when we had enough collected, I ordered the census for the year we all agreed on. One CD was donated to the Archives, & the other was sent to me. The one for the Archives is automatically put online. I can enlarge my CD, & do look-ups for the folks that can't see theirs good enough, or can't quite make theirs out. After the purchase, each CD costs anyone else $20. John SCHUNK, of S-K Publications, has always been prompt about answering any questions we had before hand. Our web site for Walton Co Census is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gawalton/Contents/census.html for further viewing. As for Census View, I was told to add $.25 ( or $.50) more to each page, so the cost was about the same as S-K. I would then have to mail in the CD to be scanned for the archives, & then it would be mailed back to me. On another list, (TXBOSQUE) we tried the AllCensus. They are speedy, & answered all our questions about the census, but they don't have them all yet. We have the 1860 & 1870 online through them: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbosqu2/Contents/Census.html Blue Roses Publishing Company is where I bought the 1880 census from for Bosque Co., TX. They too are quick to answer questions you might have. If they don't have your particular CD in stock, it takes about 8 weeks to get it in, & then you have to mail it to the Archives to be scanned for online use, & then they mail it back to you. I believe they have updated their resources at: http://www.us-census.org/resources/cd.htm but I'm not real sure if all these allow their Cds to be scanned for online usage. I just know that S-K, Blue Roses, Census View, & AllCensus did. Bettie <>< -- God Answers Knee-mail!!! 3. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kay McGregor Subject: Help!! List Members, I know that this request may not be the most proper etiquette-BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!! I desperately need verification and a copy of a marriage license that was performed somewhere in South Carolina. I am also a genealogist (25 yr), a mother and grandmother that is fighting to keep her grandson out of an very abusive and dysfunctional home of the other grandmother. Time is running out-they are packing to move in a very short time. The judge said that if I can prove that this marriage did exist, our daughter can get her son. The record I need was filed between 1990-1993 by LAWRENCE LINDOL CURTIS and TINA MARIE HARRIS/ALEXANDER/HOARD. I am praying that someone in each county lives close enough to the county seat to check it out for us. Please reply to me, and I will give you my fax number AND get your mailing info, so I can send you $50. to cover the cost and your expense. Thanks in advance to all that can help. 3. Looking for information on my 3rd great-grandparents, Henry Williams and Sara Davis. Henry and Sara Davis Williams daughter Ida Cornelia Williams born 10-18-1868, SC married Benjamin Franklin Troutman, 1891. 1870 census shows Benjamin Franklin Troutman living with his father Paul Troutman in Newberry. 1880 and 1890 I don't know where Benjamin lived. By 1900 Benjamin Franklin Troutman and Ida C Williams lived in Orangeburg, Willow Twp, SC with their 5 children. 1910 don't know. 1920 they were living Saluda Co, Germanville Twp, SC. By 1925 they moved to Forsyth Co, North Carolina. Ida Cornelia Williams Troutman died 2-22-1929, Forsyth Co, NC. Her death certificate shows Henry Williams and Sara Davis as parents, both born in SC. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lesa

    2. Hi, I'm related to the Crumly family, also, through Benjamin Crumley b. August 20,1779 in VA. He married Hannah Plunkett, daughter of Robert Plunkett and Margaret Murdock. Another of their daughters, Sarah Jane, married Robert Cleland, and their son Giles married Mahala Peterson; Giles and Mahala had a daughter named Nancy Jane Cleland, my greatgrandmother. I know that James and Catherine Regan had a daughter named Nancy, b. SC 12/04/1811. Nancy married Robert Crumley. Robert and Nancy helped to found the Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL known as Crumley Chapel. Both Nancy and Robert are buried there. I do not have much additional information on the Regans. I'm sorry that I can't help you concerning Catherine's maiden name, but I would be interested in any other info on the Regans! Good luck, Linda the maiden name of Catherine, ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry Crumly" <jmcrumly@pcola.gulf.net> To: <SCNEWBER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2001 1:58 PM Subject: [SCNEWBERRY] James Regan and Catherine (?) > I am a new subscriber to your list, a descendant of John Crumley and Hannah > (Faulkner) who settled in Newberry in the mid-1700s. 3. I am a new subscriber to your list, a descendant of John Crumley and Hannah (Faulkner) who settled in Newberry in the mid-1700s. I've been trying for several years to identify the wife of my 3-great grandfather, James Regan, whose first name was Catharine. One researcher from SC identified her as Catharine Crumley, daughter of John Crumley, but that researcher was unable to document the information. John and Hannah did indeed have a daughter named Catharine, so I suspect the information is true, but I learned long ago to find a source for my facts. The library here in Pensacola has lots of material on the southern states, including SC, but nothing on Newberry specifically and no marriage records from around 1811, the year their first child was born. Could someone from this list who has access to marriage records from Newberry County from that time frame please do a look-up for me? I'm looking for documentation of a marriage of James Regan and Catharine Crumly ca1811. Many thanks, Jerry Crumly Pensacola, FL
