Good Morning, To all the Dad's on our list, I wish you a very Happy Father's Day......may it be filled with laughter, joy and fond memories of your times with your own Dad and your children. Best Wishes :-) Nancy E Parr---List Hostess
Jane: I have a Mary in a curious situation. I don't think this is the one you are looking for though. The 1860 Laurens County Census, page 233, dwelling 220/211 shows the following: H. O'Neil 56 M Mary 65 F P. 20 F Jesse 19 M J. Henry Bryant 60 M school teacher I am rather certain this is Henry O'Neall and two of his four children, Pawlona and Jesse. His other two have left home by now. (Gideon P. O'Neall and my GG Grandmother Martha O'Neall (Day)). I do not understand who the 65 year old Mary might be. I don't have a clue who Henry's wife was. If you find out more about this Mary or any of these, please let me know. I, too, am related to the JONES family of Newberry, but I have only one name: Rebecca JONES m. Ezekiel Mathews about 1770; they had the following chldren: Thomas Mathews, b. 1773, Laurens. SC; Samuel, b. 1776; Elizabeth, b. 1778; Margaret, b. 1780; William (m. Aurelia) b. 1786; Daniel, . 1788; M (?); Abel, b. 1792 (Married Nancy Couch); john, b. 1794; Benjamin b. 1796; Rebecca; and Julia Ather, b. 7/19/1799; I've heard that Rebecca Jones family may have been from Wales, but I've not found anything to verify that. Do you know of any connection between this Rebecca and Samuel Jessie Jones? Does anyone out there have any other clues? Looking for William Freeman, In a paper I had was mentioned from Elizabeth Davison money owe to her from her grandfathers estate. (1806, I am sure he died much earlier) My grandmother was her sister Mary, married to Roland Andrews. I am also looking for Roland, I have alot of estate papers on him, he did not leave a will (died 1820) but I do not know who his parents are, born in Mecklenburg ,VA area. thanks. Pam Holmes
Hi List. Thought I'd ask about Samuel Jessie JONES.. born about 1764.. he married Rebecca Dalrymple. I'd like to find more info on Granddaddy Jones if I can. Has anyone been able to "flesh" him out? His parents? Possibly what he did for a living? I had not known of Samuel until early May.. I'd only had his ggson, John Daniel Jones as my grandfather for the last couple of years.. so, all of this Jones connection is still new to me. Any cousins out there from this line? Sandy in Easley SC it's still a great day to be alive...

Jason, If you're on this list, could you please e-mail me? If I'm not mistaken, you were researching the Longshores of Newberry County at one point. I have a question about them. Thanks! Becky, I would love to have the Davenport Cemetery records you ask about. You are a sweetheart to do this for people. Hope some day I can be in a position to do look ups. I do share my information with others gladly. If you ever find more information on Allen Pitts would really appreciate the information. Thanks again. Are there any Newberry Co. O'Neal/O'Neall researchers on this list? I'm looking for info on a Mary O'Neal who died in 1841. A broad stab at her year of birth would be around 1805 - 1811. Any potential leads would be appreciated. Thanks! Jane Gilbert
If you will check a copy of "Quaker Families of SC and Ga." by Wm . F Medlin, Ben Franklin Press, you may find your ancestor listed. I copied almost the whole book, but didn't copy the T's. I, too, descend from half of Newberry Co, both German,(Keller, Buzhardt ,Cromer, etc.) Scots-Irish, -------Thompsons are intermarried with our Youngs, Hunters and Carmichaels. I found ancestors listed in this book that had not shown up in Quaker material elsewhere.
