Thanks for putting where you are from Jerry. That way I know you are not familiar with the Cleland families where I live. I am only a short distance from Newberry,SC and Mountville,SC I have distant cousin where I live,Clinton,SC, and as far as I know they were all from around Mountville,S.C. where my mother was raised. She was the one told me we were kin to them. I haven't worked that line yet but know it must be in my Chase/Riser/Smith connection from that area. When we used to go to the same campground and got to talking kinfolks it seems as though it might have been through a Smith line, but if you have some names I will be glad to ask my cousin.
