Hi Marlboro I have had a number of requests so rather than repeat myself I think it might be best if I posted the list a few at a time. Hope that will be okay. IF your ancestor does not appear on this list that certainly does not mean they were not married in Marlboro County as I am sure this is an imcomplete list. There are just not enough of them for it to be complete. If anyone has a problem with this method please let me know. Munnerlyn, Bennetsville, SC Part 1 "Marriages licenses were granted by Court Officials in Marlboro County. There are on file in the Probate Judge's office here a number of old marriages licenses. Some of them were granted by the County Judge and attested by the Clerk of the Court. Later on, they were issued by the County Ordinary, which was then the name of the Office now called Probate Judge. The licenses were then directed to the minister who was to perform the marriage ceremony.
