    1. [SCMARLBO-L] James Ivey 1830-? Marlboro Co. SC , son of Isaiah Ivey
    2. Bryan & Lydia Sowers
    3. I am looking for info on James Ivey b. 1830 to Isaiah and Patricia (Miles) Ivey - Isaiah later married a Martha and they went on to (Cherokee) AL after 1850. James shows in the 1850 Marlboro census as laborer listed with family of E.Easterling, James also appears in 1860 and 1870 Marlboro census'. The ages shown on the census' don't match up - 1850 @20 yrs. 1860 @ 37 yrs & 1870 @ 48 yrs old, he lost /gained 7 years of age somehow. anyways, he apparently stayed behind in SC and his brother Enoch J. Ivey went on to DeSoto Ms. (Enoch is my GGgrandfather he was 2 yrs younger than James)The other (half?) brothers went on to AL with Isaiah and Martha- they are Robert b. 1834, Enos b. 1845, Travis b. ? apparently born after 1850 bef. 1860 (in AL census) There was also a sister - Ann b. 1828 SC, I know no more about her. Does anyone have anything on James, who stayed behind in SC ?? Did he marry into the Easterling family?? I'm curious why he didn't head west with the rest of the family, just as I am curious why Enoch went, alone, further west than the rest of his family. I'd love to hear from anyone who can make any connections or has info to this James Ivey.
