My gggrandfather was Meekin Spears married in 1843 to Mary B. Singleton. I know that Nathaniel Spears was born in 1730 and came to Virginia around 1750-53 married Lydia Wise and settled in Marlboro Co., SC. James Spears married Lydia Meekin and Meekin Townsend was one of their children. I am not certain but I think another Nathaniel Spears went west and some how a descendant of his became my Meekin Spears gggrandfather.
