Earlier I sent a message quoting Hamer re. tenters at the Beauty Spot Methodist camp meeting. I had inferred from his mention of one 1853 plat that his list of individuals reflected a meeting of this time. Since then, I have learned that several of the named tenters died before then--e.g, John H. Hamer in 1842, Daniel Caulk in 1844, Daniel Hamer in 1845, and Meekin Townsend in 1852. Last night I found that Thomas in his History of Marlboro County actually states in referring to Beauty Spot (Methodist) that the first camp meeting was in 1810 and the last in 1842. Given birth years for some of the individuals named by Hamer, I think his list probably corresponds to one or more later years within that range. Thanks to all who responded with messages about those listed. Larry Jones
