They are from my book, 'Scattered Seed'. c1819 Winifred Campbell [m. 1st, James Campbell, the oldest son of Farquherd Campbell of Cumberland County] m. 2nd John Hodges the son of Philemon Hodges (1760-1839) whose father William arrived in North Carolina from Virginia during the mid 1700’s. Children of Winifred & John are Catherine Winifred Hodges, born 6 January 1820; James Philemon Hodges, b. 11 Nov. 1821; John W. Hodges, b. 23 Dec. 1823; Jane Penelope, born 9 Sept. 1826 [Bible Recs of John Hodges of Averasboro] 1827 Dec John Hodges is appointed guardian to Elizabeth, Ferquhard, Sarah, and Mary Campbell, heirs of James Campbell, deceased. [Cumberland County Guardians Bonds] 1830 Jan 14 Married at the seat of Col. John Hodges in this county, Mr. John C. Smith, of Johnston County, to Miss Elizabeth Campbell, oldest daughter of the late James Campbell and granddaughter of Ferquhard Campbell. [Bondsman was A.S. McNeill. Wit. D.
