On the birth/death dates of Capt. J. R. Parker, the following information supplied by Tom Edwards at: [email protected] ------------------- "A History of Marlboro County" by Rev. J.A.W. THOMAS was printed posthumously (he died 1 Aug 1896) in 1897 by the author's family with added info. from a son, William E. THOMAS. The original draft of the book was given to the Marlborough County Historical Society recently by a descendant. It contains passages not published. If I remember correctly the gift also included a lot of Capt. PARKER's, who was a surveyor, log books and notes. ------------------ With this information the map can probably safely be dated ca 1885-1895. Thanks to all for the information. Jim Newton
