Mark, Check out the new S.C. Department of Archives and History in Columbia, S.C... I spent a day there several weeks ago and it was certainly worth the trip. They have microfilm records for Marlboro County dating to the colonial era... in particular.... all sorts of Land grants.... royal grants..state land grants...and deeds issued post 1790... Also, they have microfilm records for the Marlboro County Wills... Court Sessions... etc... I do not think birth records, etc were recorded until late 1800's... or maybe early 1900. The SC DAH has a webb page as well!! Are there indexes to the ones that do exist? Thank you, Mark
