Pearson Jr. Mar 3, 1903; Dec 27, 1949 Moses Pearson, 1823; 1865 age 42 CSA w. Rachel Pearson, died Jan 3, 1905; age 89 years 5 months In the history of the old Cheraws: The Pearsons settled on the east side of the river, in what is now Marlborough District, on a valuable tract of land, known afterwards and from an early day as the "Big Plantation". Moses Pearson was a noted captain in the Revolution. William Strother, whose name appears here for the first time, was a son of Charles Strother, who emigrated from Virginia to Charles Town and died there. William Strother moved to Cheraw not long before this period. He married first, Miss Rogers, daughter of Benjamin Rogers and afterward Lucy Hicks a daughter of Col. George Hicks (pg 179) Members of the Revolution Pearson, Aaron private 1782 Pearson, Moses, lieutenant in Hick's Regiment in 1780 and captain in Benton's Regiment, Marion's Brigade in 1781-82 On 21st of March, the joint committe of the Senate and House, appointed for that purpose reported a list of justices for the several counties. Hicks, Morgan Brown, Tristram Thomas, Claudius Pegues, jr., Moses Pearson and Thomas Evans (pg 433) I don't know if any of this will help since no where does it mention the spouse(s) of Moses Pearson though he seems to have been quite prominent in the area following the Revolution.
