Wethington, Armetta H. MARION -- Mrs. Armetta Hayes Wethington died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Marion Nursing Center after an illness. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the Chapel of Smith-Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Devotion Gardens Cemetery, directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home. Mrs. Wethington was born in Marlboro County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hayes. Mrs. Wethington was a homemaker and was a member of Brownsville Southern Baptist Church. Mrs. Wethington was first married to the late Walter Campbell and second to the late Mack Wethington. Surviving Mrs. Wethington are two daughters, Margaret C. Wethington of Marion and Sally Rollins of Florence; a son, Walter F. Campbell Jr. of Gastonia, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wethington was predeceased by a daughter, Norma Ann Campbell.
