My grandfather was Philip A. Thomas, b. 15 Apr 1857, where ??? He died 21 Apr 1915 and is buried in Wiggins' burying Ground, near Sampit, SC. Married to Isadorah Lavenia Boatwright, b. 25 Feb 1861, in Georgetown County, SC, born after the 1860 census, where she shows up in Georgetown as being 2 years old. Philip's father, also Philip Thomas, was born around 1822, in NC ? ; died 1 Oct 1864 in Elmira, NY, while a POW; wife is named Hannah, born around 1832, also born in NC? Could my Philip A. Thomas possibly have been a member of the Marlboro Thomases? If anyone can suggest where I might look for him, please let me know. Thanks, Fran in ABQ
