Fields, Sylvia G. MYRTLE BEACH | Sylvia Greene Fields, 78, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at her home. She was born May 27, 1925, in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Krupnick Greene. In 1954, she moved to Marlboro County where she was the Director of Purchasing for Marnat Packing Company and So-Pak-Co from 1959 until her retirement in 1992. While living in Marlboro County, she was a Girl Scout Leader, and active participant in the Marlboro Arts Council, and a founding member of the Marlboro Players theater group. After moving to Myrtle Beach, upon her retirement, she remained active - serving on the Board of Directors, for the Grand Strand Players and the Grand Strand Dance Group. In 2001, she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year at the Senior Center. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Leonard A. Fields, two sons, Gary Alan Fields and wife Charlotte, of Atlanta, Ga., and Dr. Marshall C. Fields of Columbia, S.C., a daughter, Leslie Ellen Branham and husband Ronald D. of Lugoff, S.C., a brother, Edward Greene of Myrtle Beach, S.C., five grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Jonathan, Adam, and Rebecca. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Temple Emanu-El in Myrtle Beach with Rabbi Avi Perets officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Dillon, S.C. McMillan-Small Funeral Home is in charge.
