Alexander Norton Jr. Columbia -- Memorial services for Alexander Norton Jr., 77, of Columbia will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mr. Norton died Friday, August 8, 2003. Born in McCall, SC, he was the son of the late Alexander and Gola Grey Norton. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving the Bronze and Silver Stars. Mr. Norton was a retired barber and owner/operator of Norton's Open Air Market. Surviving are his wife, Louise Norton of the home; daughter Paula; granddaughter, Jessica; son-in-law, Michael, all of Columbia submitted by Helen Lane Wiggins
