COURT OF COMMON PLEAS. To (??) Honorable(??) the Presiding Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the County of Marlboro in the State of a???___(aforsaid?) I. The petition of John A. Woodley and his wife, Sue H. Woodley respectfully represents ?? to your Honor: That Kathrine Maria Johanna Sievern is the legitimate child of August Sievern and his wife Katharino Maria Sievern, the later of whom died giving birth to this child. II. That said Kathrina Maria Johanna Sievern was born on the 23rd day of September, A.D. 1894, and on the 9th day of February A.D., 1895, the said August Sievern, father of said infant, under his hand and seal, by his Deed duly executed and recorded according to law, disposed of the custody of said infant to your petitioners, who have had the care and possession of her ever since. III. That your petitioners are desirous of adopting said Kathrina Maria Johanna Sievern and to confer upon her the right to inherit as the lawful child of your petitioner in accordance with the provisions of the Statute in such cases made and provided, and also to change her name from Kathrina Maria Johanna Sievern to Kathleen Sievern Woodley. WHEREFORE your petitioners pray that an examination be made into the merits of this petition in such manner as the Court may direct and that such order may be granted in the premises as may be proper.
