    2. Yes, you answered my questions and here is Delina B. Hamer's will. You have my permission to post it on your website. Please note: That the copy I have is not signed but a xerox copy of a carbon. The interest rate was higher then than now! I think it's funny that her two girls are listed with their name (M. Eloise and Sue H.), but that her sons are only initials. State of South Carolina, County of Marlboro, In the name of God, Amen. I Delina B. Hamer, of the County of Marlboro and the State of South Carolina, being of sound and disposing mind, but realizing the uncretainty (uncertainty??) of life, do make, ordain, publish and declare this as and for my last will and testament, hereby revoking all wills and instruments of a testamentary nature heretofore by me made. Item I. I commit my soul to the gracious God who gave it, and direct that my body shall be decently interred, and that all expense incurred therefor (therefore??) be paid out of my estate. Item II. I will and direct that my executor hereinafter named, shall pay all of my just debts with the first money coming into his hands. Item III. I will, devise and bequeath to my daughter, M. Eloise Hamer, all my personal property of every kind and money and choses inaction. Item IV. I will, devise and bequeath to my son, J.B. Hamer, in fee simple, all that piece, parcel or tract of land bounded by lands of C.C. Hamer, J.A. Stanton and others, this being the only tract of land owned by me in Marlboro County. Provided, however, that my son J.B. Hamer, shall within three years after my death pay to my following children: A.B. Hamer, One Thousand Dollars: Sue H. Woodley, One Thousand Dollars: R.C. Hamer, One Thousand Dollars; C.C. Hamer, One Thousand Dollars, and M. Eloise Hamer, One Thousand Dollars. It is my will and desire that J.B. Hamer shall have three years after my death to make these payments without interest. However, if they are not paid at the end of the third year, then they are to draw interest at the rate of seven per cent. per annum after the third year and until paid. Item V. I will, devise and bequeath unto my following children, A.B. Hamer, Sue H. Woodley, R.C. Hamer, and C.C. Hamer, all that certain piece, parcel or tract of land, which I inherited from my sister, Disy Baldwin Galloway, (which is one-seventh, 1/7, of all lands which Disy Galloway died, seized and possessed of) situate in Richmond County, State of North Carolina, on Big Mountain Creek, share and share alike, the child or children of a deceased child or children to take per stirpes, in fee simple. Item VI. I will, devise and bequeath to M. Eloise Hamer and J.B. Hamer my house and lot situate in the Town of Bennettsville, in fee simple. I have heretofore given them a deed for this lot, but I have requested them not to have same recorded until after my death. Item VII. I will, devise and bequeath to my daughter, M. Eloise Hamer, in fee simple, all interest in and to that piece, parcel or tract of land on which I now reside. I have only a life estate in this tract of land, the remainder is invested in my daughter, M. Eloise Hamer. See original Deed to me. Item VIII. It is my will and desire that M. Eloise Hamer and J.B. Hamer do keep my grandson, Daniel Curtis Hamer, until he finishes his education at the Tatum School, then send him to some business school and allow him there to acquire a business education, the said M. Eloise Hamer and J.B. Hamer to pay his expenses while in school. Item IX. I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my son, J.B. Hamer, as executor of this my last will and testament, and if he shall for any cause not qualify as such, then I nominate, constitute and appoint my son, C.C. Hamer, as executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I the said Delina B. Hamer, do hereunto set my hand seal this the 29th day of October, A.D., 1914. Delina B. Hamer (SEAL) Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Delina B. Hamer to be her last will and testament in the presence of us, who at her request and in her presence and the presence of each other, do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto. J.W. Gandy D.D.
