Will of Charles Strother 1773 Charleston, SC Charleston Will Book 15, page 611, 612 WILL OF CHARLES STROTHER South Carolina In the Name of God Amen I Charles Strother of Charles town Butcher being very Sick & Weak of Body but of perfect Mind & Memory thanks be to God for it therefore calling to Mind the Mortality of my Body & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last will & Testament that is to say principally & first of all I Give & recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it & my body to be buried in a decent & Christian manner at the discretion of my Exors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same, again by the mighty Power of God And with respect to what worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to blefs me in this Live I Give demise & dispose of the same in the following Manner & form Imprimis My Will & desire is that all my Just Debts & funeral Expences be paid as soon as conveniently can be done after my decease Item I Give & Bequeath to my Loving Wife Mary Strother my Riding Chair & horse named Spot Item I Give & Bequeath to my loving Wife Mary Strother to my Sons William & George Strother & to my Daughter Sarah Strother all my real & personal estate Vizt*.
