    3. Helen-thanks so much for posting that information about Duncan Donald McColl. I may have mentioned this to the list, but bear with me once more, please. Duncan D. McColl was a witness to something that a BRIDGES signed-Maybe the wife of a DAVID, who later married a STUBBS-too late to hunt right now-but the name stuck with me. My BRIDGES originated in the Marlboro-Marion district, and the progenitor, Benjamin Bridges Sr., married a Rebecca Stubbs. Their son Ben Jr. married Mary Cival Henagan. Both families, along with other brothers and sisters of Ben Jr., moved to GA during the time of the land lotteries. Ben Jr. had a son named John Wesley Bridges. John W. was the father of my grandmother by his second wife, Frances Slattery of Newberry Co. By his first wife, John Wesley Bridges had among others a son named DUNCAN D. BRIDGES, b. 1858, d. 1862. Duncan was, of course, on the 1860 census for Pulaski Co., AR. My g.grandfather, John Wesley BRIDGES, also had a "Remembrance Plaque" printed on dark blue shiny paper with gold lettering, which commemorated the lives of his first wife and 3 deceased children, among whom was DUNCAN D. BRIDGES. This plaque is in my possession, given to me by my mother's cousin, who said she didn't have the foggiest notion of who those people were, but perhaps I might! ANCESTRY magazine ran an article in the past year about these plaques. The name Duncan D. was in no other Bridges family that I know of-even the brothers and sisters of John Wesley did not name any children that-but I always felt like there was a connection with the Duncan D. McColl who signed that document which I found early in my search. My BRIDGES ancestors must have held him in high esteem. If anyone could shed any light on this, I would be very appreciative. Happy Mother's Day to all-my first in 68 years without my own wonderful MOM, the daughter of a BRIDGES Renaissance Woman! Mildred Venitucci
