I am trying to identify the parents of this John Roscoe whose household was enumerated in the 1910 census of Smithville Township, of, Marlboro County. ED# 89, sheet 4, as follows: John Roscoe head male white age 50 md. 1 24 yrs. b. S.C. Farmer Martha Roscoe wife female white age 48 md. 1 24 yrs. 10ch, 8liv. born S.C. Bettie Roscoe dau. female white age 23 wid. 1 ch, 1liv. born S.C. Perley Roscoe son male white age 22 single born S.C. Redmond Roscoe son male white age 17 single born S.C. Walter Roscoe son male white age 13 single born S.C. Hellie Roscoe dau female white age 7 single born S.C. Lula May Roscoe G.D. female white age 2 single born S.C. In the 1920 census this family's surname is spelled Rascoe. The only child that was listed in the 1920 census that was listed in the 1910 census was Lula or Lola May but she is now shown as a daughter of John rather then his granddaughter. I believe this is a mistake. I believe that Lola May is the daughter of the Bettie Roscoe that was in John's household in 1910. Two other sons of John's are listed in the 1920 census that were not in the 1910 censu s. These are Johnie age 10 and Willie age 10. In 1920 Redmond Rosco, son of John was enumerated in Stanley County N.C. A Walter T. Roscoe who is probably the son of John is buried in Marlboro County, he was born August 22, 1897 and died October 16, 1941. Perley Rasco, son of John, was enumerated in Marlboro County in 1920. The census shows his wife was named Eula and he had two daughters; Francis age 10 and Margaret age 4/12. Eula died October 18, 1930 age 42 in Marlboro County. Any help in identiying the parents and parental grandparents of this John Roscoe and the maiden sur-name of his wife, Martha, would be appreciated. James R.
