    2. Dan, Alabama has Townships and Ranges. When township is used in surveying land, a township contains 36 sections or 36 square miles. The term township is also used to mean an electoral and administrative district of the county. The latter was used on the census reports and I believe this was what the original question pretained to. In this case a township can include more then one city, town or community within the county. I have not seen any maps of Marlboro County with such township marked off and named but I am sure there must be such maps. Probably can obtain then at the Courthouse or State Library. James R. Rasco
