Some idiot has decided to fake my email address to send out virus- infected spam. Please do NOT open email purportedly coming from me IF it is an unusually large email OR contains attachments. DO update your anti-virus software and never, never, never open an attachment unless you know the person sending it AND you are expecting it. I virtually never send out attachments but if I do, you'll know in advance that it is coming because I'll ask you first. All email you receive from the Rootsweb mailing lists is scanned for viruses and neither attachments nor exceptionally large posts are permitted. Just fyi, I'm not the only GenWeb Project volunteer this is happening to so please folks, BEWARE. I only learned that someone was faking my email address because the return path is set to my email and I'm getting all the bounced messages. Lucky me. I cannot tell you what the original email contains because I never download junk mail, but it's huge: 109k or so and that's too "wordy" for even the worst spammers, methinks. If you know where to look, you can easily see that the email did NOT originate from me, but I wanted to put y'all on the alert. Be careful out there and please update your anti-virus software.
