Hi, Regarding the questions about townships: Many larger libraries have the book: "Township Atlas of the United States," compiled by Jay Andriot. This books has county maps for, I believe, every state of the Union, showing the townships divisions. This includes both the rectangular public land survey states of the west, as well as the eastern states, with their patchwork arrangement of townships. I find this book to be very valuable, and always consult it when beginning research in a new area. The library here in Chapel Hill has a copy in the reference section. I would be glad to look up a few counties for list members, at least until I get overwhelmed with requests.
