Rudisill, Horace Fraser DARLINGTON -- Horace F. Rudisill, 78, of Darlington died Tuesday, July 15, 2003. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 11 a.m. in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Florence, conducted by the Rev. Jim Hardee and the Honorable Marvin I. Lawson and directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. Mr. Rudisill was born in Florence County and was the son of the late Horace and Carroll Chase Rudisill. He was the director of the Historical Commission for 35 years and the Darlington County historian for 37 years. Mr. Rudisill also authored several historical books and was a popular public speaker on Darlington County history. Survivors include his wife, Norma Byrd Rudisill, of the home; a daughter, Louise R. (John) Murray of Charleston and a step-son, Robert D. Howell of Darlington. The family will receive friends at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
