Hello Dan, I am so glad you replied to my post. I am looking for John and Ann Horne who had my grandfather 1900 in Marlboro County. I haven't any clues whatsoever on this family with the exception of the death certificate of their son, Roy Fred Horne, born 20-May-1900. Hopefully, if the census took place prior to his birth that there is only one Horne famioly with the names of John and Ann(ie). You help is greatly appreciated here. The complete census (all years) is available on Ancestry.com. Only 1920 and 1930 are indexed. What name are you looking for and do you know the township where they resided? It is a tedious job but you can browse through the census images page by page. I have found that often the indexes don't help much because of the many various ways of spelling a name. You need to be accurate especially for given names. Also the 1880 census is available on the Family History Site. They have an every person index with a connection to the household. It is possible to access "previous" and "next" households or individuals. They do not have the page images.
Hi, I have just located a grandparent who was born in Marlboro County, 1900. Question? Does anyone on this list have access to the 1900 and/or 1910 census for this county. Researching Horne/English Thanks so much __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo! http://sbc.yahoo.com

Hi Everyone, I am still looking for the parents of my Jacob Strickland (1780-1851). He married Elizabeth and had 8 children, Mary, Malachi Noah (a Baptist minister), Elizabeth, Spencer J., Jacob, Jr., Bennett E., Robert T., and Julia Ann. Any help appreciated. Also researching Odom, Stubbs, Conner, and Bridges in connection with Mary Ann Odom wife of Spencer J. Strickland. In my Coward line still researching for the wife of James Coward (1765-1842), and the possible connection of my Michael Coward to William K. Sweatt and Susan A. Sweatt. I found the graves of Wm. and Susan at Oak Grove Methodist Church. Why is my Michael C. Coward living with them in 1850? Is Susan his mother and what is her maiden name? Any help appreciated. Hi, I am researching the family of John JONES of Marlboro District. John was born about 1780, probably in Richmond County, North Carolina. A John Jones is listed in the 1812 tax list of Marlboro County, and is assumed to be this man. In the 1820 census of Marlboro District, there is a family of John Jones listed that matches this man, including John Sr, his wife [name unknown], John Jr. (b. about 1806), Robert (about 1807), Frank (about 1809), Mary "Polly" (about 1814), and Katherine (about 1818). Another son Elias was born in Marlboro in 1824. By 1830, John and family had moved to Duplin County, North Carolina. John may have been in the turpentine business, hence he moved around quite a bit, following the long leaf pine... By 1850 John had moved with several of his children to western Tennessee. John Sr. died, probably in Gibson County, Tennessee around 1857. I am trying to find who John's parents were, and also who any siblings may have been. I am also trying to confirm that I have the right John Jones. Everyone knows how difficult that can be. I wish my wife had chosen an ancestor with a less common name .... She also has a William Smith in her ancestors. I don't have that much on them. Its possible. Daniel A Truitt was the younger son of John Truitt Sr. I haven't really done much work on the line of John Truitt Jr. who apparently inherited his father's lands. Daniel Truitt moved to Alabama in 1830 or so. He had several sons in 1850 that I haven't been able to find after that.
