Added to the Marlboro County SCGenWeb site: "Some Interesting History Revealed by Old Records Found in the Probate Judge's Office in Bennettsville" 1926 Article from the Pee Dee Advocate Transcribed by Mary Lewis >http://www.rootsweb.com/~scmarlbo/newspapers/peedee_advoc1.htm< The article is a wonderful find, and contains a list of early marriages and some biographical information. The data for the marriages is already on the Marlboro Marriages pages but the remainder is new and very interesting. Thanks, Mary! Hi all, Just a reminder that you should never copy list mail from one list and post it on another *unless* the author gives specific permission to do so, either to you personally or within the body of the message itself. Cheers, Victoria
I found this searching thru the SCMARION list. Does anyone know how to interpret this data. I am interested in 3 Rivers since Evan Pugh recorded the marriage of an Unknown HATCHER to Sela McGEE in 1776. Hello all, Andy HATCHER here: I just wanted to introduce myself to the list. I just subscribed yesterday. I am a direct decendent of James HATCHER c.1787 (some say MarlboroCo.,SC but I have NO PROOF OF IT). James HATCHER first appears in the 1810 MarlboroCo.,SC Census at approximately 23 yrs of age. From that point our family is found mainly in MarlboroCo.,SC and RichmondCo.NC, and a few others are scattered in surrounding counties. The HATCHER family mixed with the LEVINER, CHAVIS, SESSOMS, QUICK, GRANT, CLARK, JACOBS, KNIGHT and BRIGMAN families. Regards, Andy

Do you, or does anyone, know the date of the "newest" automobile on that card? Victoria
Not to worry, Dan, I didn't send the actual article, just the link to it. You can find it on the Marlboro County SCGenWeb site -- 1) Go to the main page at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~scmarlbo/ 2) Click on "History" 3) Go down below the towns map and click on "Bennettsville" That should do it!
