Those searching cemeteries, etc., or looking for back roads in South Carolina will find a copy of "South Carolina County Maps" most valuable. It is large format and shows locations of churches and many cemeteries in a number of counties. I bought my copy at a boating supply store but it is available from the publisher. I also recently located several SC county maps from the 1800's but they are small format.
Can anyone tell me the location of the Mossy Bay Cemetery. I have attempted on several occasions to follow the directions given in "Marlboro Co Cemeteries" by Drake..... but I can not seem to find it.. This is the cemetery where the early Townsends who settled the Brownsville-Parnassus area are buried.. We will be passing through the area again this weekend and would like to stop and see the cemetery.. Thanks for any help Glenn Pearson

Hello everyone, my name is Karan, and I'm new to this mail list thing, so bear with me if I don't do it quite right. I'm looking for any information on the McArthur family from Marlboro County, SC around the Clio area. I'm helping a friend search for his family ties. All the info he could give me was his father's name was John McArthur and his grandfather was Milton McArthur. He had several uncles: Fred, Theodore, James, all deceased now. If anyone knows of this family, please let me know........ Thanks......Karan

I have noticed listings pertaining to the PARRISH family. One of my ancestors, John BRISTOW b. Novemeber 7, 1748, in Virginia, m. Susannah PARRISH b. February 11, 1752. I believe that they raised their family of 10 in Marlboro and died there, she in 1815 and he in 1820. It is possible that they married in Granville County, NC, since that is where he moved with his father and brothers ca. 1760. Does anyone know anything about the Susannah PARRISH family connection? Thanks. Larry Jones
Looking for any info on Boay GIBSON, female, Marion/Marlborough, circa 1790. Also wondering the origin of that first name; could it be a surname? Thanks... Jo H.

Brenda, thanks so much for your reply; I'm so excited! I have no proof on Lucy's parents; I've only taken data given me by others (mid 1960's). I thought it said she was Elijah's and Polly's daughter in the Stubbs book by Andrea and Hill, but I hurriedly checked my notes and do not find that reference. I would love to know more and be happy to share anything I have. I am descended through Samuel Fuller, who went to Putnam County, GA and then Conecuh County, AL and was a son of Lucy and Shadrack; recently I have been told that Shadrack was married twice (to Mary Gwyne) and am still trying to work this out. I have a copy of a letter written by Shadrack Fuller, Jr. to his brother, Samuel and dated 5 June, 1841. I'll try post it to the list soon as there are probably others of the list working on this line. I looked at your WebPages, but did not have time to check it out tonight; I can hardly wait to see what you have on it. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon. -----Original Message----- From: Brenda Wagner <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Thursday, June 03, 1999 2:21 PM Subject: Re: [SCMARLBO-L] Marriage Licenses Marlboro SC >Esther, > >Lucy is the daughter of Brissy and Agga Parrish.
