CLINTON - Mildred Eileen Brock Dowdle, age 65, of 505 Chestnut St., died July 31st in Self Regional Healthcare. She was born in Marion, SC, and was a daughter of the late Charles Daniel Brock and Myrtle Davis Brock Meritt. Mrs. Dowdle was a graduate of Thornwell High School and attended Winthrop College. She was an employee of Norbord and a former employee of Clinton Mills. Mrs. Dowdle was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the choir, served as a youth advisor and on numerous other church committees. Surviving are her husband, Marion “P-Nut” Dowdle of the home; one son, Jeffrey Thomas Dowdle and wife, Amy of Wake Forest, NC; one daughter, Kathy Dowdle Lapomarda and husband, John of Clinton; two brothers, Charles Daniel Brock, Jr. and wife, Lois of Tampa, FL; David Craig Brock of Boiling Springs; six grandchildren, Clayton, Baity, Walker, Christopher, Hannah and John Michael. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Dean Brock, who died in Vietnam. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, August 3rd, at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Youth Missions, First Presbyterian Church, 410 E.
