MULLINS — Effie Bakas Harrelson, 47, wife of Tony Harrelson, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 27 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Effie was born June 27, 1961 in Montreal, Canada, a daughter of Anastisious and Malamati Sistasis Bakas. She had worked as a nurses aide at McLeod Regional Medical Center and was of the Greek Orthodox faith. Surviving Effie in addition to her husband of the home are: her Mother: Malamati Sistasis Bakas of Greenwood, Delaware; her Father Anastisious Bakas of Summerville, N.J.; 2 Stepsons: Mark Anthony Harrelson, Jr. and his wife Denise Bell of Lumberton, N.C. and Michael Travis Harrelson and his wife Heather Renea of Mullins; 2 Grandchildren: Laine Austin Harrelson and Christopher Logan Mincey; a Brother: Dean Bakas of Greenwood, Delaware; a Half-sister: Anastasia Bakas of Greece; and her Maternal Grandfather: George Sistasis of Montreal, Canada.
